National Gallery of Art

In the Fall of 2024, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, accepted me in their copyist program, allowing me to paint on-site in the museum. It’s a dream come true for a painter to have this kind of prolonged, in-person study with the masters. Come watch me paint on Wednesdays at the National Gallery and visit my Instagram for more about my current master study project.

For this interpretation of Jusepe de Ribera’s The Martyrdom of St. Bartholemew, I decided to use modern, vibrant colors while retaining the Baroque feel of the piece.
