Commissions

Beautiful paintings and good relationships are far more important to me than money or contracts. For that reason I only accept projects that fit within my developing body of work. Patrons are guaranteed the first opportunity to see and purchase a painting, but if you choose not to, I am happy to keep it for my gallery exhibitions. There is no awkward obligation to buy. When you message me with an idea, I view it as an opportunity for collaboration. Every work of art is different, from a quick 3-hour oil sketch to a more planned composition, so your ideas are naturally part of the conversation.

Here are some examples of my commissions.

Chrisiana Okechukwu is an author, English professor and founder of Inwelle educational center in Nigeria. Prof. Okechukwu’s sitting for a classic professional portrait was a delight. I tried capture the warmth and openness I experience in her personality.

Below are some commissions I’ve done to benefit the life-saving work of Canine Humane Network in Howard County, Maryland.

The sweet hound dog in the painting above came to the shelter with a large litter of newborns. I’m happy to say the painting raised $1200 in charity raffle ticket sales for Canine Humane Network.
